JOHN GILMORE, SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER
John serves as SVP & GM of Sling, responsible for formulating thecompany’s overall vision and strategy necessary for Sling to continueits pace of rapid growth and expansion.
John has nearly 20 years ofexecutive management and operations experience with high tech consumerelectronics and manufacturing companies. Most recently, he served forfour years as COO at Sling, responsible for all aspects of thecompany’s day-to-day global operations. He formed part of themanagement team that led the company through the successful acquisitionby EchoStar Corporation in Oct 2007.
Prior to joining Sling, John spentfive years in a number of senior management roles at Handspring andpalmOne, the smartphone and PDA device manufacturer and inventor of theTreo™ smartphone. John played a lead role in the due diligence processduring the successful acquisition of Handspring by Palm in late 2003 toform palmOne (later Palm). Before that, John was head of Europeanoperations at Iomega, manufacturer of the award winning Zip™ and Jaz™portable storage drives. John started his career at Arthur Andersenand Andersen Consulting (later Accenture) – working in Andersen’soffices in Manchester, England; Melbourne, Australia; and SanFrancisco – consulting to a diverse range of Andersen’s global hightech and manufacturing clients.
John holds a Bachelor's Degree inEconomics from the University of Manchester, England and is a Fellow ofthe Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
BHUPEN SHAH, CO-FOUNDER AND CTO
Bhupen Shah has over 22 years ofexperience in technology development, product development, andengineering management in embedded digital media and communicationsolutions at Emuzed, Dazzle, RealChip, Philips Semiconductors, IBM andothers. Over his career, Bhupen has on four occasions successfullybuilt cost-effective India-based development organizations.
Bhupen joins Sling Media as aco-founder following the acquisition of DiTango by Sling Media. Priorto founding DiTango, Bhupen co-founded Emuzed, Inc., initially servingas COO and EVP of Engineering. Bhupen played a key role in building andmanaging development team in Bangalore, India. His team delivered PCand embedded digital media products to worldwide tier-1 OEMs. Later asCTO and VP of Marketing, Bhupen focused in technology evangelism,marketing and pre-sales activities resulting in design wins with tier-1OEMs worldwide.
Bhupen was also a key contributorand VP of Software at Dazzle, the first company to deliver videocapture devices for the consumer market at retail. Dazzle was acquiredby SCM Microsystems.
Bhupen holds a Masters of Science in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
JOHN M. PAUL, EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, PRODUCTS
John serves as Executive Vice President,Products of Sling Media. He isresponsible for delivering the companies product strategy and roadmapincluding both OEM and Consumer products. He manages the ProductManagement and Engineering organizations.
John most recently served as CEO of Roku, LLC, a consumer audio andvideo company, founded and was CEO of OurPictures, Inc., a consumerdigital photography company he later sold, was Executive Vice Presidentof AOL Products, responsible for America Online's new productdevelopment creating many of the consumer services of AOL and otherbrands of the company. Prior to AOL, he served as Senior Vice Presidentand General Manager of Netscape's Server Division. John has held seniormanagement positions at Compaq Computer Corp, Banyan Systems, SiemensNixdorf, and others.
He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois with a B.S.E.E. in 1976.
JAY BERRYHILL, VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Jay Berryhill is Vice President of Sales and Business Development atSling Media. His organization is responsible for all worldwide sales,channels and business development initiatives for Sling Media’sproducts as well as licensing of Sling technology.
Prior to joining Sling Media, Jay worked for Autodesk, the world’sleading design software company. During his tenure there, Jay held keyleadership positions as Vice President of Sales for the Collaboration,Manufacturing and Channel businesses helping lead Autodesk to over $2Bin revenue. In addition, his sales teams captured #1 share positions inManufacturing CAD and Collaboration SaaS markets.
Before Autodesk, Jay served as Vice President of Sales at emergingtechnology companies Live Capital (acquired by Dunn Bradstreet) ,Encanto Networks (acquired by Lucent), and Redcart Technologies(ecommerce). Jay also spent 8 years at Motorola where he was VicePresident of Sales for the Information Systems Group. While atMotorola, he launched the ISG group into the consumer market and hissales force was recognized by Sales and Marketing Magazine as one ofthe top sales organizations in America. Jay began his career withGeneral Electric in the Commercial and Industrial Business sectorsworking in increasing sales and marketing positions at severallocations across the United States.
He holds a Bachelors degree in Marketing from the University of Alabamaand is based at Sling Media office in Foster City, California.
MARK WILHELM, VICE PRESIDENT OF CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Mark Wilhelm leads the Customer Experience team, Sling Media’s globalservice and support group. We offer a wide range of service andsupport options for Sling’s customers, from telephone-based technicalsupport by Sling’s global contact centers, to repair service by SlingRepair Centers.
Mark has over 20 years experience working with customers in computersoftware and consumer electronics companies. Mark joined Sling Media in2007 and was a part of the management team that went through thesuccessful acquisition by EchoStar Corporation in Oct 2007.
Prior to joining Sling, Mark worked at Apple Computer for 8 years in anumber of customer service and support management roles, most notablyas the Vice president of AppleCare, Apple’s global service and supportdivision. Before that Mark was the Director of Worldwide CustomerSupport at Red Brick Systems where he was responsible for technicalsupport operations worldwide and prior to that he was Director ofService and Technical Support at NeXT Computer.
Mark received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University Sacramento.
