JOHN GILMORE, SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER
John serves as SVP & GM of Sling, responsible for formulating the company’s overall vision and strategy necessary for Sling to continue its pace of rapid growth and expansion.
John has nearly 20 years of executive management and operations experience with high tech consumer electronics and manufacturing companies. Most recently, he served for four years as COO at Sling, responsible for all aspects of the company’s day-to-day global operations. He formed part of the management team that led the company through the successful acquisition by EchoStar Corporation in Oct 2007.
Prior to joining Sling, John spent five years in a number of senior management roles at Handspring and palmOne, the smartphone and PDA device manufacturer and inventor of the Treo™ smartphone. John played a lead role in the due diligence process during the successful acquisition of Handspring by Palm in late 2003 to form palmOne (later Palm). Before that, John was head of European operations at Iomega, manufacturer of the award winning Zip™ and Jaz™ portable storage drives. John started his career at Arthur Andersen and Andersen Consulting (later Accenture) – working in Andersen’s offices in Manchester, England; Melbourne, Australia; and San Francisco – consulting to a diverse range of Andersen’s global high tech and manufacturing clients.
John holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Manchester, England and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
BHUPEN SHAH, CO-FOUNDER AND CTO
Bhupen Shah has over 22 years of experience in technology development, product development, and engineering management in embedded digital media and communication solutions at Emuzed, Dazzle, RealChip, Philips Semiconductors, IBM and others. Over his career, Bhupen has on four occasions successfully built cost-effective India-based development organizations.
Bhupen joins Sling Media as a co-founder following the acquisition of DiTango by Sling Media. Prior to founding DiTango, Bhupen co-founded Emuzed, Inc., initially serving as COO and EVP of Engineering. Bhupen played a key role in building and managing development team in Bangalore, India. His team delivered PC and embedded digital media products to worldwide tier-1 OEMs. Later as CTO and VP of Marketing, Bhupen focused in technology evangelism, marketing and pre-sales activities resulting in design wins with tier-1 OEMs worldwide.
Bhupen was also a key contributor and VP of Software at Dazzle, the first company to deliver video capture devices for the consumer market at retail. Dazzle was acquired by SCM Microsystems.
Bhupen holds a Masters of Science in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
JOHN M. PAUL, EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, PRODUCTS
John serves as Executive Vice President,Products of Sling Media. He is responsible for delivering the companies product strategy and roadmap including both OEM and Consumer products. He manages the Product Management and Engineering organizations.
John most recently served as CEO of Roku, LLC, a consumer audio and video company, founded and was CEO of OurPictures, Inc., a consumer digital photography company he later sold, was Executive Vice President of AOL Products, responsible for America Online's new product development creating many of the consumer services of AOL and other brands of the company. Prior to AOL, he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Netscape's Server Division. John has held senior management positions at Compaq Computer Corp, Banyan Systems, Siemens Nixdorf, and others.
He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois with a B.S.E.E. in 1976.
JAY BERRYHILL, VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Jay Berryhill is Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Sling Media. His organization is responsible for all worldwide sales, channels and business development initiatives for Sling Media’s products as well as licensing of Sling technology.
Prior to joining Sling Media, Jay worked for Autodesk, the world’s leading design software company. During his tenure there, Jay held key leadership positions as Vice President of Sales for the Collaboration, Manufacturing and Channel businesses helping lead Autodesk to over $2B in revenue. In addition, his sales teams captured #1 share positions in Manufacturing CAD and Collaboration SaaS markets.
Before Autodesk, Jay served as Vice President of Sales at emerging technology companies Live Capital (acquired by Dunn Bradstreet) , Encanto Networks (acquired by Lucent), and Redcart Technologies (ecommerce). Jay also spent 8 years at Motorola where he was Vice President of Sales for the Information Systems Group. While at Motorola, he launched the ISG group into the consumer market and his sales force was recognized by Sales and Marketing Magazine as one of the top sales organizations in America. Jay began his career with General Electric in the Commercial and Industrial Business sectors working in increasing sales and marketing positions at several locations across the United States.
He holds a Bachelors degree in Marketing from the University of Alabama and is based at Sling Media office in Foster City, California.
MARK WILHELM, VICE PRESIDENT OF CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Mark Wilhelm leads the Customer Experience team, Sling Media’s global service and support group. We offer a wide range of service and support options for Sling’s customers, from telephone-based technical support by Sling’s global contact centers, to repair service by Sling Repair Centers.
Mark has over 20 years experience working with customers in computer software and consumer electronics companies. Mark joined Sling Media in 2007 and was a part of the management team that went through the successful acquisition by EchoStar Corporation in Oct 2007.
Prior to joining Sling, Mark worked at Apple Computer for 8 years in a number of customer service and support management roles, most notably as the Vice president of AppleCare, Apple’s global service and support division. Before that Mark was the Director of Worldwide Customer Support at Red Brick Systems where he was responsible for technical support operations worldwide and prior to that he was Director of Service and Technical Support at NeXT Computer.
Mark received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University Sacramento.
