Working as part of our testing team, you will search for, investigate, report, and track issues. Your duties will include insuring the scalability, availability, fault-tolerance of the next generation in video social networking products. Both black and white box testing following both existing test plans and test plans that you write, designing new test cases, operating and creating automated test suites, and analyzing defect reports.
- Work with project managers, developers, and business users to determine test requirements for web based applications.
- Create repeatable and robust automated test scripts utilizing functional test tools such as HP WinRunner/QuickTest Pro (QTP).
- Interact and coordinate efforts with geographically diverse teams.
- Test Sling Media Web Based Applications on a variety of operating systems, networks and devices.
- Track and analyze test results and work closely with developers to isolate and reproduce defects.
- Interact closely with members of cross-functional teams for project success.
- Work with other Sling Media QA team members to source domain expertise.
- Communicate status & issues in a timely fashion and manage escalations appropriately.
- 4+ years of Quality Assurance experience utilizing SDLC and/or Agile methodologies.
- Previous experience as a QA Engineer on highly available, highly scalable, fault tolerant web-based services; ideally social networking and video collaboration sites.
- Significant experience with creating and coordinating automated testing efforts using HP/Mercury WinRunner/QuickTest Pro (QTP), Ruby WATIR, or similar tools.
- Load/performance testing experience (LoadRunner, Tsung, etc) is a plus.
- Developing test plan / test cases, generating test reports and bug tracking management.
- Ability to test web based applications on multiple platforms (Windows OS, Macintosh OS, UNIX) is a must.
- Basic understanding of code release management and defect tracking processes and tools (ie. SVN, Jira).
- Knowledge of VBScript, Ruby, Javascript, XML, HTML, SQL, and Flash player is a plus.
- Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
