Sr. Product Manager, Home Network Solutions

General Requirements

As Product Manager for Home Network Solutions, your job will be to define, drive and deliver innovative solutions for "peace of mind home networking" for Sling Media's customers. In a world wherein customers expect to view their TV's anywhere the untamed "wild-west" nature of home networks poses one of the most significant challenges to the media industry.

You will interface directly with our OEM partners as well as retail customers to develop a keen understanding of their networking requirements and develop solutions that meet these requirements. Internally, you will work closely with Product Marketing, Engineering, Senior Management, UI design, QA, and our Beta group to understand and turn the customer's home networking requirements into product solutions. This position requires a solid understanding of current and emerging media networking products, technologies and protocols; the challenges and needs of the consumer home environment; embedded SW and CE products; as well as the ability to work with complex technical architectures, a passion for user-experience, and strong communication skills. Experience with video streaming delivery methods, and settop boxes is highly desirable.

Business and Technical Requirements

• Subject matter expert for networking technologies and products
• Highly knowledgeable of existing and new wireline and wireless networking technologies
• Commands a deep understanding of complex networking topics such as IP Port Forwarding, Wireless MAC Filtering, NAS Configuration, Wireless Security, etc.
• Solid understanding of common protocols such as HTTP, ARP, UPnP, SSDP, TR064, HNAP, etc.
• Experience with remote configuration management and diagnostic methodologies.
• Understanding of networking challenges faced in the consumer home environment.
• Familiarity with video streaming and delivery technologies such as Flash, RTP/RTSP, SMIL, IGMP.

Product Delivery

• BS/MS preferred plus significant experience in Product Management of Networking and Embedded SW products.
• Experience with video-over-IP is highly desirable.
• Ability to specify, develop and deliver products to aggressive schedules.
• Have exceptional communications skills and be able to deal with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies including California, Colorado, NY, and Bangalore.
