As a manager reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance, you will guide the testing team by utilizing your previous experiences in utilizing better methods and processes to communicate project status to all project stakeholders. You are also experienced in working with multiple teams at various levels of Agile/SCRUM maturity and are able to assist those teams at reaching the next level, without interrupting the necessary speed of development required for today’s development lifecycles. You are a hands-on manager that is able to spend a large portion of testing, realizing that being hands-on allows you to better understand the challenges that the team members face and insures that you are familiar with the product line. You will also work closely with team members in offshore locations and help assist both teams to improve processes which allow both teams to work on collaborative projects.
- Hands-on QA Management experienced with SDLC methods, ideally Agile/SCRUM/XP, with the ability to manage, track and communicate project QA status to wide variety of team members across multiple, remote locations.
- Testing of Sling Media functionality embedded within different Set-Top Boxes, and other devices.
- Testing of Sling Media functionality developed for Cloud, interacting with Web-Based and Set-Top Box Functional applications.
- Creation of Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Reports utilized by local, remote and external testing teams.
- Testing Sling Media software and hardware with a large number of Home Network routers, devices and products.
- Work closely with Customer Service by assisting them with customer escalations.
- Track & analyze test results and work closely with the developers to isolate and reproduce defects.
- Interact closely with members of the cross-functional team for project success.
- Interact with external and internal Partners for testing cross-branded products.
- Interact closely with members of the cross-functional team for project success.
- Work with other Sling Media team members, both within QA and other team members, to source domain expertise and apply to architecture testing.
- Communicate status & issues in a timely fashion and manage escalations appropriately.
- 12+ years QA experience testing various products.
- 4+ years QA Management experience.
- Background in testing both software and hardware (home networking and audio/visual devices).
- Proven ability to expand communication methods and track project status to wide variety of team members across multiple, remote locations in an Agile/SCRUM environment.
- Developing test plan / test cases, generating test reports and bug tracking management.
- Proven experience with testing different Set-Top Boxes (STB - cable, satellite, IPTV).
- Testing software products on multiple platforms (Windows OS, Macintosh OS, UNIX/LINUX and SQL-based databases).
- Experience gathering and analyzing software quality metrics throughout the software development life cycle.
- Successfully worked as a member of teams with both local and off-shore members.
- Interact with external and internal Partners for testing cross-branded products.
- Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Ability to travel oversees on an infrequent basis (probably less than once a year) may be needed.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
