Job Title: Flash Engineer

Sling Media’s award-winning Slingbox turns any Internet-connected PC, Mac, or mobile device into your home television allowing you to watch your TV virtually anywhere in the world. The Sling Entertainment Group is a division of Sling Media and will deliver new applications and services enabled by the Slingbox’s marriage of familiar TV programming and richly interactive web-connected devices.
Responsibilities
- Write internet video applications in Flash and Flex.
- Integrate third party solutions and service to support business initiatives.
- Provide support and perform system maintenance/upgrades.
- Assists in operations including release coordination and system deployment.
- Collaborate with third-party, vendors, and internal/external stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Flash development, in both FLA-based and ActionScript-only applications.
- Minimum of 5 years experience developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale interactive web applications.
- Good understanding of Flash toolsets and platforms such as FDT, Flash Media Server, Flex, Ajax, HTML, dynamic scripting (Ruby on Rails preferred), and Photoshop
- Experience with source control systems such as Git and Subversion
- Must have experience with object-oriented programming
- Strong eye for user interface, design and experience.
- Understanding of design patterns such as MVC
- Working knowledge of SQL is a plus
